Four times short-cycle precision KT 700 for the EGGER Group
Krefeld, February 26, 2020 - The "first board" for the fourth short-cycle press KT 700 took place which the EGGER Group has ordered from Siempelkamp so far. This milestone demonstrates the continuity in the business relationship of both partners.
EGGER Rambervillers, production site since 1974, is located in the Vosges mountains and has been part of the EGGER Group since 2000. The site with 400 employees produces raw chipboard and melamine resin-coated boards, cut-to-size panels and finished furniture components. It supplies the French, German, Austrian, Swiss, Benelux and Italian markets. The cooperation with Siempelkamp is well established. Among other things, the EGGER Group operates a ContiRoll® as well as four short-cycle presses made by Siempelkamp in Rambervillers.
In February 2018 EGGER and Siempelkamp signed a contract for the new delivery of a high-performance KT 700 short-cycle press for the laminating of particle boards. The new KT plant is a replacement investment for an old short-cycle press built in 1993. The delivery includes a multi-piston short-cycle press (KT 700) including raw board and finished board handling with the corresponding automation. The main technical features: 180 pressings per hour, maximum specific pressing pressure 700 N/cm². The heating plate format is 2,200 x 5,700 mm, the number of press pistons 40.
After the third KT 700, which will be put into operation at EGGER in St. Johann in 2019, this is already the fourth KT 700 that EGGER has ordered from Siempelkamp: two in St. Johann and two in Rambervillers. The first board was produced as agreed in December 2019 and celebrated with many guests.
Since the new short-cycle press is a replacement investment, special requirements had to be taken into account when planning the integration into an existing plant. Siempelkamp mastered these challenges together with the EGGER project engineers so that the installation could be integrated excellently into the existing plant. With the newly delivered short-cycle press, EGGER is expanding its product range at the Rambervillers location with an essential component in terms of laminating technology due to the many special products.
